GeoBloom Fabric Collection: Inspiration, Projects & Stockists

GeoBloom fabric collection for Art Gallery Fabrics, has been a long time in the making—about as old as my son, in fact! Shortly after QuiltCon 2023 (and after a night with a few too many drinks), I finally pulled the trigger and signed up for Bonnie Christine’s Immersive Surface Pattern Design course, knowing deep down that I wanted to design quilting fabrics one day. After all, that’s what got me hooked on quilting in the first place—browsing through different fabric designs and picking just the right prints for my projects has always been one of my favorite steps in the quilt-making process.

As time went on, I actually never opened the first module till a year after I signed up for Bonnie's course. Back then I was a couple of weeks postpartum and the opportunity to design fabrics for Art Gallery Fabrics presented itself after participating in their Sewcialite program. With the looming deadline of having something for Art Gallery Fabrics to review and not really being able to do much after a c-section, I’d project Bonnie’s course from my laptop onto the TV in my living room, watching the lessons at 1.5x speed while scribbling down designs as quickly as possible.

Fast forward, and I feel incredibly blessed to be part of the Sewcial Bee Collective. Not only are these women dear friends, but like me, they also began their journeys without a formal background in fabric design. Over time, we’ve grown together—learning what worked, what didn’t, and honing our ability to create prints and palettes that not only reflect our own voices but also complement each other beautifully.

MEET THE SEWCIAL BEE COLLECTIVE

The Sewcial Bee Collective (Abby Luchsinger, Brooke Shankland, Christina Lee, Kelsey Swatske and Wendy Chow) formed through our friendship and shared passion for quilting while working with Art Gallery Fabrics. Our philosophy is rooted in collaboration and unity—each of us brings a unique perspective, but we strive to create cohesive collections that appeal to both traditional and modern quilters.

ABOUT THE COLLECTION: GEOBLOOM

Theme: GeoBloom is a fresh, geometric floral landscape. It celebrates modern design and nature’s geometry, blending clean, graphic elements with organic shapes and a bright floral palette.

Contents: The collection features 25 prints, with five unique prints designed by each Sewcial Bee, 25 piece fat quarter bundle, pre-cut 10in square 42 piece bundle, pre-cut 2.5in 40 piece strip roll, 4 quilt kits and patterns by each Sewcial Bee

Color Palette: A warm and bright floral mix—soft shades paired with bold pops of color—infusing every project with whimsical charm.
