Overview of Spring Serenade Quilt Along

Welcome! On this page you will find all the information you’ll need as part of the Spring Serenade quilt along (QAL) in collaboration with Brother USA. This page will be updated weekly throughout the duration of the QAL (March 3, 2025 to April 13, 2025) with links to blog posts that include bonus projects, tips and tricks for successful outcomes at the bottom of this page. The links will redirect you to Brother Stitching Sewcial blog.
  

How to Participate

1. It's FREE to participate in the QAL. Yay! Sign up for weekly Spring Serenade QAL updates to be delivered to your inbox* here for the duration of the QAL (March 3, 2025 to April 13, 2025). Once you provide your details you will receive a welcome email from The Weekend Quilter (be sure to check your spam or junk folder if you don’t hear from Wendy within an hour or so).
 
Each Monday throughout the QAL period, you will expect an email from Wendy at The Weekend Quilter with instructions on what you’ll need to do for the week and links to blog posts on Brother Stitching Sewcial with bonus projects, tips and suggestions for successful outcomes.
 
2. Download the Spring Serenade quilt pattern for FREE from The Weekend Quilter’s website (the-weekendquilter.com).
 
3. Follow and share your progress using the #SpringSerenadeQuilt #BrotherSews hashtags, tagging @The.WeekendQuilter and @BrotherSews on Instagram and Facebook.
 

The Calendar

The QAL will operate on a 6-week schedule, starting March 3, 2025 and ending on April 13, 2025:

Week 1 (w/c Mar 3): Gathering and cutting fabric
Week 2 (w/c Mar 10): Create Block A, three times 
Week 3 (w/c Mar 17): Create Block B, three times
Week 4 (w/c Mar 24): Create Block C, three times
Week 5 (w/c Mar 31): Assemble quilt top: sew sashing and cornerstones 
Week 6 (w/c Apr 7): Baste, quilt and bind

This week is all about the quick-corner method. Instead of tossing the trimmed fabric from your quick-corner units, you can turn them into half-square triangles (HSTs) with just one extra stitch!
