Solar Slice Quilt

Take a traditional Sawtooth Star quilt block and slice it up to make Solar Slice Quilt. Sawtooth Star blocks are widely used in modern quilt designs and are a popular traditional block. Solar Slice quilt suggests you do not need to have a complete star to suggest it is derived from a Sawtooth Star.

The quilt pattern comes in two sizes: baby and throw. The baby size is scrap and fat quarter friendly.

	Baby Size 42” x 44” (107 cm x 112 cm)	Throw size 77½” x 80” (197 cm x 203 cm)
Fabric A (Background)	1¾ yards (160 cm)	5½ yards (530 cm)
Fabric B (Star Points)	¼ yard (23 cm) or 1 fat quarter*	⅝ yard (60 cm)
Fabric C to J (Sliced Stars)	Each Fabric C to J: ¼ yard (23 cm) or 1 fat quarter*	Each Fabric C to J: ⅜ yard (35 cm)
Backing Fabric	4½ yards (412 cm)	8 yards (732 cm)
Binding Fabric	⅜ yard (35 cm)	⅝ yard (60 cm)

*A fat quarter of is a quarter of a yard of fabric. It measures approximately 18" x 22".
